Alhambra by moonlight
05/13 2023
I read of love and tender goodbyes
From the tenants of the tomb,
I'm still a kid on the inside watching
Alhambra by moonlight.
I sit down to learn the art of war,
I'm sure as hell not gonna lose her again,
She hovers over me when I sleep wielding scissors,
Alhambra by moonlight.
I was born with a heart two sizes too large,
At least that's what you said one afternoon.
I watch over you from up here,
Alhambra by moonlight.
Memory is sweet upon your tongue,
Though you try so hard to cast it away.
You change the night into day,
Alhambra by moonlight.
Speak, you who ride on white horses
Through the streets of ancient cities,
In victory or defeat, does it matter?
Alhambra by moonlight.
I've got no choice but to give way,
Now that my eyes are shot, my hearing too.
Everywhere I go she taunts me, oh, remember
Alhambra by moonlight.
