Crazy Horse; Billiard Halls
02/24 2023
Find people trying to grasp life from below
In bathroom stalls and endless beer halls
Where money flows as distant lovers wave hello,
And Gabriel agrees to debate you as he falls.
Is it sadness I feel as I watch them go?
Just as the heat pipes whisper low,
And the first rays of the morning glow,
My glass is empty yet the words they flow.
In a distant memory I fly far above,
I watch you live life devoid of the silk glove,
And love --- as love goes --- devoid of love,
Like Job grasping in vain for his pages, where'art'thou?
You smile, but how soft it falls on the hours
That pass by violently through acid showers.
And strawberry fields upon your eyes like flowers,
Something to keep up in ivory towers.
The skinny women as they pass and go;
Champagne, it bubbles to turtleneck expectations
Extinguishing hundred of extinct native nations;
The ink tells the story of the smile, however slow it flows.
